The Lambton Worm

The lyrics of the famous Geordie ballard by C.M. Leumane first performed in pantomime in 1867 at the Tyne Theatre. The dialectic spellings are accompanied by footnotes for the reader and is preceded with an essay about the legend in song by Dr Helen Williams.

Two illustrations by award winning illustrator Sara Ogilvie printed from magnesium blocks along with one found stock block.

Hand-set and printed in rare Sabon 20 Didot foundry type with Abbey Text for the title page. 12 Didot Sabon for the introduction and with Optima for footnotes. Printed in black, green and olive grey throughout. 275mm x 190mm.

Zerkall papers hand-bound in the workshop in quarter cloth spine with tipped on label. Edition or 80 copies with 54 for sale. Autumn 2019.
