Written by Tommy Armstrong ‘The Pitman Poet of the Durham Coalfield’ this ballad was originally published to raise funds for the striking miners and their families during the 1892 dispute or ‘lockout’.
The image is an original screen print by Royal Scottish Academy artist, Alfons Bytautas. The types are hand-set in Sabon-Antiqua and printed in three colours on Zerkall mould-made paper. The broadside is 530mm x 250mm.
